MI4 MAY BE DIRECTED BY BIRD OR REUBAN

This is all speculation, baby! Don’t take it heart!

Rumored to be the new poster and title but don't hold me to that.

Just like Andrew Stanton (director of Finding Nemo and Wall-E) is venturing into live-action film with John Carter of Mars, another Pixar man is rumored to be in talks to direct Mission Impossible 4. The film is set to release on May 27, 2011 and Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams are hunting for a director. According to the Hollywood Reporter:

Cruise and Abrams have been meeting with helmers new and old, including “Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer and Edgar Wright, who has “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” coming out this summer.

The newest candidate is Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles and Ratatouille. It may seem weird for a man accustomed to directing Pixar movies to be involved with live action flicks, but think about it. The dude knows how to tell a story and he knows how to create some great environments. I think every Pixar movie is a gem (I’ve never seen Cars, so I could be wrong) and these guys who work on one have some intense creative talent. I’d actually be fine with any of the three directors mentioned in this post, but I’ll just say that Brad Bird has got the chops for it.
